We loved our evening at B.O.R.G.O. Gabriel gave us a warm and enthusiastic welcome. The food is delicious and the philosophy of the place is charming and authentic. We enjoyed the rabbit and pork dishes. The flavours shone through. Carefully and lovingly cooked. The wine...was also very good. We felt well looked after and had a very special evening here.More

We had excellent ravioli, a great Bistecca alla fiorentina + salad and magic desserts. The friendly and very service minded owner makes you feel at home and most welcomed! The wine list is short but inclued many good & affordable picks. This is one of...the best places to enjoy a real authentic Tuscany meal!!!More

One of the most delicious meals we have had in Italy, and we have had some great food. Gabriele is so passionate about his cooking, all made with local, seasonal produce. Even though there was an issue that meant he was in the kitchen and...serving on his own, he spent the time telling us what was in all of the dishes. If you want something a little bit different, from locally sourced producers and individual wines, please try this wonderful little place. We felt like Gabriele was just cooking for us personally as he made so much effort. It’s not in the heart of Florence but so worth the visit, just across the Ponte Amerigo Vespucci, a 10 minute walk. Thank you so much for a delicious and reasonably priced meal. Lisa, David and Lucia from England.More

This place is a perfect choice: no over-thought-out food, only small delicacies, endlessly kind service and excellent atmosphere! The cocoa is a great idea in the stew, and that they even thought of our dog... we were bought!

Definitely one of our best meals in Italy. It was highly rated and accepts reservations on-line so that is always a good start for us when we don’t speak the local language much. No worries here though. We started as we typically did in Italy...– sharing a starter and a pasta before out mains. The rabbit liver pate was first....and absolutely wonderful. We appreciate a good pate but this one was pretty special. Next was a pasta with mushrooms that was also very simple and flavorful. for mains, we chose the duck breast and the octopus. Both are dishes we’ve had many times and both were near the top of the best we’ve ever had of them. Perfectly prepared (which is a very different process for each of these), seasoned and paired with sides and sauces. A couple of very good desserts, a bottle of wine as well as a dessert apertif and we were sated. Excellent quality food and service at good prices. A perfecto option for a meal in Firenze.More

My family of five has has been in Italy for nearly two weeks and this is the best dinner we have had by far. Every detail is considered from the house made bread to the creative apps to the perfectly prepared main courses and everything...in between. Honestly, in terms of value when it comes to food quality, service and price, I have found few restaurants globally that compare!More

Food was EPIC and the duck was better than any I’ve even had in France. My husband had the pork and loved it. We loved the food so much that we’re eating here again tonight. We’ve been in Florence for a week and this was...the best meal. In fact, I can’t remember eating a meal this good for a while. It’s the kind of restaurant where you wonder how could it possibly not have a Michelin star, but then are so grateful it doesn’t so you can get a reservation as the restaurant is quite small (although eclectic and romantic). The owner is also absolutely lovely.More

We decided to come here on our final night in Florence, and were looking for a friendly and homely experience. From the moment we entered, the host made us feel very welcome and had a great sense of humour. We started off with an amuse...Bouche on the house, which was delicious. I had the rabbit liver pâté, and my partner had the cheeseboard. There was a good selection of cheeses with a delicious, sweet caramelised onion dip also with some on the house sourdough bread made by the host. The menu was notable in that it was much smaller than the other restaurants seen in Florence, this, as it often does, indicates that the quality of ingredients, and therefore, the final dish is often superior – this proved to be the case here. My partner ordered the pork fillet, which was just absolutely delicious. It was cooked to perfection – perfectly medium rare edge to edge and presented beautifully. I had the rabbit roulade, which was again delicious, filling, a delight to look at on the plate. In summary, this is a fantastic restaurant, not quite in-keeping with the Florentine style of other touristy restaurants, but one absolutely worth a visit for the quality of the food and the kindness of the host. Thank you!More

We chose this restaurant based on the outstanding reviews. While we enjoyed our meal, the taste and presentation overall were not at the caliber we were expecting. The pasta was absolutely excellent. The salad and rabbit liver pate were good, but nothing memorable. The amuse...bouche was some spread on a chip. The wine that was recommended was the most expensive we had in a month's trip and not sure the quality matched the price.More

What an incredible find within Florence! Walk just a little bit outside of the main areas and you will find a gem of a restaurant. We were greeted by the Chef as soon as we walked in. I said "thank you Chef" and he smiled...so big as he wasn't expecting it. From then on we were taken care of in an exceptional manner. We enjoyed every course and found it to be an incredible value. When ordering make sure to trust what is local and in season. We got the risotto with Asparagus and it was amazing! The chef selected an excellent bottle of wine to match our meals and had great suggestions for our amaro at the end. The tiramisu was so good and I am not a dessert person. All in an excellent meal, great atmosphere to enjoy dinner with your person or peoples, and a chef who wants to ensure you have a good time. Bravo!More

I can only give this restaurant a 5 star rating because there is nothing higher. I ordered the pork fillet because it is a florentine staple but not because I particularly enjoy pork fillets. I find them difficult to prepare and often dry. This pork...was far from dry! It was moist and tender on the inside with a bacon style crispness on the outside. Delicious! The pork was accompanied by to die for pearl onions broiled in water, sugar and apple vinegar. Amazing! Finally, the dish also had a side of very creamy and good mashed potatoes. For dessert, I ordered the gluten-free chocolate tort which was served with just a splash of raspberry sauce. This tort has no competition! The staff helped select the wine and even offered a less expensive vintage from the one I selected but I stuck with my choice a red valpolicella which was perfect. On top of that, the wait staff was friendly, engaging and delightful, the cook came out to make sure everyone was happy and was visibly over joyed to hear of our love for his food. Do not miss this gem! Oh, and they are marvel comic fans as well!😍More
