While many aspects like the location, the rooms, the breakfast etc are very nice, the receptions service is a disaster. I have never experienced being given twice a room that was already taken by another guest.

Dear Valued Guest,
Thank you very much for taking the time to write about your experience in our hotel. While we are pleased to hear that the location, rooms and breakfast were very nice, we are deeply sorry for the mix up with the rooms. We have taken extra steps in directing our trainees so that this does not occur again! Thank you for helping us to improve.
Best Regards,

Very good, but not as good as the last time. Excellent SPA. The people at the reception very friendly but other people not smiling at all. The people working at the restaurant outside need more experience with service and it take too much time to have a salad...

Made a great decision to book this hotel right on the water at Belem. Checked in and was upgraded to an amazing suite (218) that has 180 degree views of the river, sea and marina. Plus a balcony with a jacuzzi in which we sat for ages watching the boats go past. The rooftop pool was great too. Breakfasts were really good on the terrace and on our last night we sat in the downstairs terrace bar by the river, where on request they made super canapés for us. We then ate in the informal restaurant where we enjoyed a great prawn risotto.
The staff are all amazingly attentive and professional.
Only 50 rooms and worth the price!

Room tip: The side facing the sea

The rooms were fantastic, light, airy and quiet. Smooth wooden floor for walking in bare feet. Sleeping was a dream, bed, sheets and pillows were soft and so comfortable. The hotel setting was perfect, on the bank of the river with views of the bridge and several historical monuments nearby.

Room tip: Ask for a room with river and harbour views

Stayed here as a couple for a short break in Lisbon. The location of the hotel itself is a short train journey from Lisbon (7-8 min) to Belem, followed by a short walk (15 min) and is situated along the seafront of the estuary. There are nice views from the hotel which has the golden gate style bridge on one side and numerous museums close by. The hotel is close to the train tracks where the trains can be heard in the vicinity of the hotel but we had no issue hearing the trains from our room (we had a room around the central of the hotel, room of 121). You can walk pretty much all the way along the seafront into the centre of Lisbon, which we did on the first morning and it takes about an 1hr and half. You get to a small cargo dock at some point which you have to navigate your way around, but it isnt that difficult.

Upon getting to the hotel around 3pm for check-in, the receptionist took us up to our room after swift check-in only to be stopped down the corridor from our room by housekeeping and learning that our room wasn't quite ready yet. Back to reception we went to wait where we were offered a complimentary coffee for our troubles. A little annoying as we had spent the morning in Lisbon after a very early flight and just wanted to dump our luggage and freshen up!

Anyway, our room was very nice with slick design of black and white, and the bed was very very comfortable. We had a balcony looking towards the bridge and one of the best things about the balconies in this hotel is that you a not immediately attached to someone elses balcony, and so have some nice privacy. You will not be able to see the balconies next door to your rooms unless you physically haul yourself over the fence. One slight issue is that the table they provide with the chairs on the balcony is only about 10 cm off the ground?! So it is almost impossible to sit on the balcony and play a game of cards of instance, unless you want back ache from continuous bending over. This didnt stop us overall, as we brought the bench from the bathroom to use as a table on the balcony :)

The bathroom was very spacious and included a bath, and a very nice size shower which was lovely. Amenities were provided and of good quality and replaced where needed. The toilet was separate to the bathroom and again was absolutely fine, even with the black toilet paper ;)

One of the biggest issues with the room, and the hotel staff are aware of this, is the lack of power plugs anywhere near the bed, or indeed on the walls. There were two power plug areas in our room, both of which were under a flap on the floor. When we realised this, we raised this issue with reception where they gave us a rather long extension lead so we could charge our phones close to our bed at night.

The other issue with the room was the lighting around the lobby part of the room between the bedroom and the bathroom\toilet. This is were the cupboards are of which one is very well lit with an actual light inside, where you can hang clothes and find an umbrella, extra pillows etc. However, in the cupboard next to it, where the nespresso machine, safe and mini bar an enclosed (all black as well) there is a tiny light at the back behind one of the shelves. Its position renders it pretty much useless as when using the nespresso machine its like a walk in a black forest with your hand, you cant see what you are doing not to mention you are amongst many drinking glasses of all shapes and sizes. There is an in house fix for this which also helps with the above problem about lack of plugs, and that is to move the very large tall lamp/heater from one side of the bed to inside the lobby. This frees up a space in the plug in the floor for the extension lead and solves the darkness problem of the lobby.

The nespresso machine was however very good, producing a great coffee to start the day, so much so we have bought a machine on returning home. However, note that housekeeping doesn't refill the pods up during your stay, even though there is a sign saying "complimentary", so unless you like decaffeinated coffee, you are limited to 4 per stay. This wasn't too much of a problem as you can get decent nespresso compatible pods from many supermarkets close by and in Lisbon for €1.99 for 10 pods. The safe worked well and surprisingly had a plug for charging inside.

Breakfast each morning was absolutely lovely. A wonderful choice of continental breakfast with fresh orange juice and coffee made by request (latte, americano, espresso etc.). A small selection of hot food and eggs can be cooked to request also. There are also a high abundance of attentive staff.

Overall a very nice hotel with friendly staff, would recommend.
