Our 2nd time visiting and it was outstanding as the 1st visit which was about 2 years ago! We went on a Sunday which is absolutely chaotic but we were only in Amsterdam with our daughter for one day on layover. The museum presents itself with clean facilities, loads of room over several floors to move and explore amongst. All experiments are hands on and keep the interest no matter your age or physical capabilities. There are do it yourself activities as well as instructor led and all the staff are very helpful. They have mini cafes to stop off on various floors as well which is incredibly helpful if you just need a quick snack or a decent meal in between all the fun and excitement! Highly recommend this place for any age. There’s always time to learn.
One of the Best zoo I have ever visites. Very clean and tidy zoo. A huge variety of animals. We need around 3 hours to see all the zoo but totally worth it
Amazing way to spend a few hours with an up close and personal look of all the animals , weather wasn’t the best but the animals available to see in this zoo is brilliant
On the whole I really enjoyed ARTIS most of the animals had lovely enclosures. There were a few that I thought were a little bit small- especially the Lions and some of the indoor animals like the Fennick Fox. A lot of the enclosures that looked newer seemed to be quite spacious though and the animals looked well looked after on the whole.
There are some really great sections of the zoo where you can get really up close with the animals- such as the tamarins, birds and butterflies. There are a number of indoor sections where you can escape the rain if needed.
There could have been more of a variety of food on offer. We couldn’t really find anything that we wanted. It would be good to have a small coffee shop selling sandwiches as that’s all we were really looking for.
Beautiful setting. Lots of animals and, since we were here in February, the animals were out and active. Highly recommend for a family visit with children.
